Podcast Discusses Millions of Kids in Need of Afterschool Care

In this 6-minute Here & Now segment, reporter Deepa Frenandes interviews Vox senior policy reporter Rachel Cohen about the lack of access to after school programs across the country. Cohen says that while cost is a huge barrier, the shortage goes beyond that, affecting working families across the income spectrum. The reason: There simply are not enough available spaces for all the millions of children in need of care. Cohen calls for universal afterschool care to be made available nationwide.
